Perhaps, one of the best love songs Christine McVie, has ever written, Love In Store immediately draws the listener by its upbeat tempo and its jamming guitars and keyboards, then takes him or her to realizing the power of its words. As the opening track on Mirage, Love In Store was released as the third single here in the U.S. off of Fleetwood Mac's fourth "rumours line-up" album. Love In Store is very often under-rated, which was very evident when it made it to only number 22 on the Billboard charts. If you have ever seen it performed live (can be found on the Mirage video) you will see and experience the intense feelings it brings to its listeners as well as its performers.
All I know is the way that I feel
Whenever you're around
You've got a way of lifting me up
Instead of bringing me down
I can't fight it anymore
Since you've been around
We've got love in store
It's obvious whoever this person is, perhaps Christine's ex-lover, the late Dennis Wilson, is very important to her and she seems to find comfort and security in him. He doesn't lower her self-esteem, (Instead of bringing me down), as some of her ex's may have. She's given up, and finally gave her heart away (I can't fight it anymore), and now she's ready for a life of love, thus they both have Love In Store.
You're the only one I ever felt
Could be special to me
You look at me and I just melt
I'm scared of feeling that way
I can't fight it anymore
Since you've been around
We've got love in store
Christine loves this person so much that she's afraid that someday it could all be over (You look at me and I just melt I'm scared of feeling that way). In other words, too good to be true.
Never take your love away
Beggin' you baby
Never take your love away
Oh darlin'
Never take your love away
Well I'm Beggin' you baby
Never take your love away
Baby, you got a way
I can't fight it.
Again, Christine doesn't want this person to leave her. She's so happy with him, that she gave her heart to him and can't imagine her life without him. Since he has been around she's got Love In Store!
