I was looking for a light weight bass guitar for practice trying to relieve the shoulder weight from my Fender P Bass. Upon receiving my new rogue violin bass I could see it was well constructed and sounded very warm and played smooth. I did within the next few days change the strings to the recommended La Bella 760 FL flatwound strings. I would actually take this bass on a gig. Great fined at a very resnable price.

The bass here is very good looking and has one of my favorite designs, but the problem lies within it's quality. The bass fells like it's made from a softer, cheaper wood, which is why the bass was chipped on the tuner head when I opened the box. Aside from the quality, bass' tone has a lot to be desired sounds diluted when plugged in.

I bought this bass 2nd hand in like-new condition. The neck dimensions are nearly identical to my 1967 Guild Starfire. I changed the strings (to the same Rotosound 88s that I use on my Guild) and was essentially able to replicate the sound that I like (despite the fact that this bass, like the Hofner Ignition, only has two volume knobs - no tone knobs). With the light hollow body, it is a bit neck heavy, but it's well made. It has become my bass of choice. I am a semi-professional musician, and play four or five gigs a month.

Very nice bass! I had to do a little adjusting on the neck (very slight bow) but it was minor and easy to do. I can't hold this against the guitar, for the price I wouldn't expect the manufacturer to get all the adjustments perfect and the bass was very playable as it was delivered, I'm am just a perfectionist!

Recently, because of the economic crisis, I had to sell my Fender bass to pay some debts. With money left over, I decided to buy a less expensive bass. I used to have a very good, for the price, Rogue acoustic bass. So, I decided to try another Rogue bass. Being a ardent Beatles fan, I went looking for a violin bass, like Mac has. Found a Rogue violin bass and found some good reviews on it. Long story short, I found one at a good price, bought it and am very satisfied with it. I am sure it doesn't match up to a Hofner, but it plays very nice, has good tone and tonation and has decent hardware. Try one, i am sure you'll like it.
