Whilst these days not as well known as the Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham version of the group, Peter Green's original version is very good. More bluesy then later versions of the group the CD still contains a number of great songs and singles from the late 1960's. Well worth a listen.

He apprenticed in the Blues Breakers, after Clapton left. He, in my humble opinion of course, more than filled Eric's shoes as the Lead guitarist. Check out the Blues Breakers 'A Hard Road' lp, if you can get hold of one, to see for yourselves. He pretty much steals the show from Mayall, just like Clapton did on the first American Blues Breakers lp. Peter, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie (also appeared on the first lp), Jeremy Spencer, and later on Danny Kirwin, simply smoked, as a three Lead guitar outfit w/drums and bass. Check out 'Albatross'. This was a single that the group released after they kinda grew bored with the same old same old blues song reworks/rewrites. It's a fine piece of British, at the time quite ahead of it's time, period music. If you like your guitars hot and nasty, check out the "Boston Tea Party' live shows. They've been re-released several times in many several formats i.e. vinyl triple set, vinyl double set with one single lp making up the difference, cds, etc. A lot of this can be found on the 'Vaudville Years' double cd set, also. they made another set called 'Show-Biz Blues'. Both double cd sets are only available through import, but if you like this stuff, it's well worth the search. My personal favorites are the studio versions of 'Oh Well' and 'The Green Manalishi'. Both of these cuts were way ahead of anything else anybody was doing, at the time, save for, maybe Led Zeppelin, Greatful Dead, Cream, and yes, even the Amboy Dukes with Terrible Ted Nudgent. Cactus was doing this kind of music, as well, and did as good, or better (Personal choice, again) during the same period i.e. late 60's. If you like any of the bands that I've mentioned and not heard the early Fleetwood Mac records/cds, go get 'em!!

One of the great White bluesmen of his day. Unfortunately, the commercial success of the post-Green years overshadowed Green's contributions to blues-rock music. When one scowers the local music shops under Fleetwood Mac, one is rarely presented with early Mac. Fortunately, since the advent of Ebay and The Net, musical rarities such as this CD are no longer.
