About the Artist and His Artworks:

We aredispersing an exciting collection of Ray Robbins original paintings on papercreated in the late third quarter and early fourth quarters of the twentiethcentury. He lived and worked in the epicenter of the industrial Northeast wherecoal and rail were the intertwining threads that bound the communities of thegreater Pocono Mtns. with the surrounding states of New York, New Jersey,Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia and Ohio as well as the Atlantic seaboard viathe Delaware River at Philadelphia and the Great Lakes via Lake Erie. Hispassion for railroad and coal mining subjects was incredible and are now beingrevealed to a significant extent for the very first time with this collection. Theseexamples come from the artist’s family and were acquired by us while on abuying trip along the Delaware River in the summer of 2017 where we wereintroduced to a Robbins family friend. Currently the works are in our storagewhere we will be retrieving small groupings periodically, so while there willbe more to follow we won’t know in advance which railroads and factories willbe made available until each visit to storage. Please see our seller site foradditional examples.
