Organist Virgil Fox, known internationally for his concerts and recordings, died here Saturday at the age of 68 after a four-year fight with cancer, a spokesman for Good Samaritan hospital said. Fox, who began performing at the age of 14 in Cincinnati, was best known for his flamboyant interpretations of Bach. He performed for 55 consecutive seasons and gave up to 70 concerts a year, but reduced his schedule after he was stricken with cancer in 1976. Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches. Photo is dated 10-24-1976.
