Fleetwood Mac is currently not touring anywhere in the world (despite what the Official Reprise site suggests). According to several sources (see the Second Hand News section and The Blue Letter Archives), Christine McVie did not want to continue The Dance tour at the end of 1997 which brought it to a halt. In a Yahoo! Chat on March 13, 1999, Mick Fleetwood stated "There is definitely a band. We're not disbanded. We reunited about 2 years ago. We're just waiting to get on the same page. We will most definitely be onstage again, and I'm really looking forward to that." Later he stated that he expects to be touring within 18 months (which would be Fall 2000). In a Star Ledger article from February 25, 1999, Mick Fleetwood suggested a studio album would also be likely. According to the Neale Heywood and Brett Tuggle Q&A Sessions here on the Penguin, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks are both expected to tour to support their new albums early in 2000. Stevie's tour is reportedly going to be an extensive world tour. |
| 3. Can you tell me how to contact Fleetwood Mac? |
No public contact information is available for the other past and present members of Fleetwood Mac. |
| 4. I registered but am having difficulty posting to The Ledge or entering The Penguin Photo Gallery. Why won't it work ? |
| The most common problem that people have is that the authentication process is case-sensitive. If the you entered in your email address with a mix of capital and lowercase letters, make sure you type it in exactly this way when you try to post or enter the gallery. For example, if you entered your e-mail address as Fleetwoodmac@Anywhere.com, then only Fleetwoodmac@Anywhere.com would work. If you tried to enter FLEETWOODMAC@ANYWHERE.COM or fleetwoodmac@anywhere.com or FlEETwoodmac@anywhere.com, it will not work. Type very carefully. If you are still having problems, contact us at penguin@fleetwoodmac.net. |
| 5. What was Stevie Nicks' inspiration for 'Rhiannon' ? |
| The inspiration for 'Rhiannon' was a book entitled Triad by Mary Leader in 1973. The book is about a heroine who renovates an old mansion after the crib death of her child and then begins to suspect her child Rhiannon is reaching out to possess her. It is long-since out-of-print but you may be successful getting a copy from Amazon.com; if they are able to locate a copy, they will provide you with a price quote within one week. |

| 7. Why is your site called 'The Penguin' ? Is there a relationship between penguins and Fleetwood Mac ? |
| Actually, yes there is. The penguin is Fleetwood Mac's 'mascott', or symbol. Back when John and Christine were first married, they lived near London Zoo. John was fascinated with the penguin population there, and used to spend hours watching and photographing them. A few years later he went on to get one tattooed on his right arm (visible on The Chain Box Set), and also chose to use one of his photos of a penguin on the album Future Games instead of a picture of himself. References to penguins are also visible on many other albums including Penguin, Mystery To Me, Fleetwood Mac, Rumours, and Time album. |
