Stevie Nicks has been fighting the Internal Revenue Service over some tax deductions, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

The Fleetwood Mac singer, like many performers, is claiming her stage costumes are not suitable for regular wear and are therefore a business expense, a notion that is apparently being argued by the IRS. Nicks said that many of her flowing dresses and shawls couldn't be reused given the energy levels of her performances, that they were ruined by "the heat generated on stage from lights and physical exertion."

Her lawyer told the paper that at press time, a tentative agreement had been reached on that and other issues including deductions for a home office and a personal manager.

The WSJ reports that in a separate case, the Tax Court only allowed a musician touring with Rod Stewart $200 of his $695  claim for stage clothes. The claim had included deductions for the man's underwear.
