John McVie, 32-year-old bass guitarist for Fleetwood Mac, married his longtime girl friend Julie Rubens in private ceremonies held over the weekend in Los Angeles, an agent for the top-selling rock group announced yesterday.

Drummer Mick Fleetwood, the group's leader, was best man at the wedding - for which the bridegroom's parents, Reginald McVie and Dorothy Merryfield, flew in from London.
