Bob Welch seeks back royalties (01/19/2000)

January 19, 2000: From Billboard Magazine (1/18/00; By Chris Morris): "'70s Star Bob Welch Seeks Back Royalties' - Former Fleetwood Mac singer/guitarist Bob Welch has sued Capitol Records, claiming that the label breached his contract by improperly computing and paying royalties and other monies. The charges are related to two albums he cut with his group Paris and four solo records, released in 1975-80. The suit, filed last week in California Superior Court in L.A., seeks compensatory and punitive damages to be determined at trial. Capitol did not return a call for comment. Welch had four top-40 hits on Capitol from 1977-79, including "Sentimental Lady," which reached No. 8 on the Billboard pop singles chart. His Capitol album "French Kiss" hit No. 12 on The Billboard 200; the followup, "Three Hearts," reached No. 20."
