THEY came together as latter-day members of Fleetwood Mac, but Billy Bumette already was a seasoned solo artist with several country hits. Bekka Bramlett, meanwhile, had grown up steeped in the country soul of her parents, Delaney and Bonnie.

The equally Illustrious Bumette family was part of rock history, too, and Billy (son of Dorsey) clicked with Bekka from the word go. -A few years later, the duo has produced a superior, soul-drenched country album with echoes of both bloodlines.

The original songs are fine, but the almost gospel-like enthusiasm of the performances is the key.

Bramlett is a hell of a singer, and she especially shines on stand-out ballad Through the Walls.

Elsewhere, the two are a duo in the true sense, trading verses, harmonising and generally sounding like they are having the time of their lives.
