Paris; short lived but sweet
Review written by Anonymous, July 26th, 2005

I remember seeing Paris live, which is a rare feat in itself and they were definitely delivering a solid power house trio message. In the midst of all the pioneering rock bands blowing up in arenas, they played in moderate low profile venues. I believe it was a Los Angeles County based city college auditorium, maybe Rancho Dominguez but don't quote me on that. Bob was the first to mount a microphone around a coat hanger and then wrap it around his forehead so he could prance around the stage. Glenn Looked content on just rocking. While it was Bob's song writing vehicle, the band had chemistry to boot for such a spur of the moment impromptu gathering of stars. While the 2nd album Big Towne did not have the strength of the songs, it has its share of fine moments. Sad to say, with Kiss, Nugent, BOC rising to arena stardom, Paris did not break through. Beautiful Youth, Nazarene and Religion are prime examples of power house trio blazing Marshall stacks. Good stuff.

This album was sooooo under-rated. It was absolutely awesome! I have got to get a copy of it or better yet, a CD of it. I'm not kidding, if anyone ever has a chance to hear this album, by all means do not pass it up. It's UNBELIEVEABLE!! Bob Welch at his best. I think we need to put out a campaign to have him tour again.
