Forget the myriad other Tea Party releases--this is the one!! Review written by Mark Trauernicht, August 8th, 2006 One of the huge problems with going to your local audio store and rifling through the Fleetwood Mac bin even now (2006) is that there are about a million live recordings of Peter Green's version of the band available, and about 90% of those are taken from the Boston Tea Party sets from Feburary 1970!
Ever since the "Live" in Boston album, and the Cerulean album came out in 1984/85, the market has been filled with countless rehashings, repressings, and reissues of this material with sound quality often varying from fair to horrid.
This 3-disc box set (and the three single-CD releases that came out individually first) effectively replaces ALL of those with remastered sound, interesting and informative liner notes, and an attractive packaging. The entire collected material from those three nights is presented here. Yes, there are--in some cases--multiple versions of the same song (since obviously some of their set list would be duplicated from evening to evening), but they are still a joy to hear. Sound quality is excellent (remember, this was recorded with 1970-technology) for the times, and the remastering job top-notch. Go out and buy this--and forget the rest!!
